As one of the first points of contact a consumer has with a brand, packaging is a crucial consideration for brands to grab attention in today’s cluttered retail landscape. SJC works with a number of retailers to help build differentiation and emotional appeal for their private brands, giving their packaging a compelling voice. We’re pleased to share these recently announced award-winning packaging redesigns on behalf of our clients:
SJC’s redesign of Rexall’s Be Better brand earned a silver 2019 PAC Canadian Leadership Award in the Rebrand Non-Food category. Our work included a refreshed look and colour palette, as well as close-cut macro photography to highlight scent and variety and provide an aspirational visual balance. Celebrating craftsmanship in package brand design and innovation, PAC Leadership Awards winners positively impact business performance, enhance brand value, prioritize sustainability, highlight innovation and celebrate collaboration.
At the PAC Canadian Leadership Awards gala held on June 4, 2019, we were also proud to accept two awards alongside our client Metro. Our package design for Irresistibles Organics Honey won a silver in the Rigid/Semi-Rigid Containers category and our design for Irresistibles Naturalia earned a silver in the New Brand, Food & Beverage category. Metro and SJC have won multiple PAC Leadership Awards over the years. A packaging partner with Metro since 2007, SJC has been proud to help its private label brand evolve and succeed in the market.
Making its debut in stores this past holiday season, NOMA Advanced™ features a new brand identity and a new look thanks to SJC’s Package and Brand development team, working in close collaboration with our friends at Canadian Tire. The packaging earned a silver at the 2019 Vertex Awards – an international competition recognizing the best in private brand packaging design. The SJC team has been working to optimize packaging communications across the NOMA brand. For the premium NOMA Advanced™ line, the goal was to create an identity that is at once familiar yet distinct. We integrated forward-looking chevron markings with the existing NOMA word mark to project strength, innovation and cohesiveness. Product photography has a feel that is elegant yet somewhat spontaneous, and not heavily staged.
